A 29-year-old woman has been charged with murder after a man died at a house in Stapenhill.

It comes as police officially name that man who died as 31-year-old Oliver O’Toole.

Kayley Mahood, of Rosliston Road, Stapenhill, was arrested and has since been charged with Mr O’Toole’s murder, a spokesman for Staffordshire Police has said.

Following an appearance at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre this morning, Tuesday, July 27, Mahood has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday, July 29.

It comes after officers from Staffordshire police were called to a residential address in Rosliston Road shortly after noon on Sunday, July 25.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Mr O’Toole was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is being supported by specially trained officers, the spokesman added.

The force said that enquiries are continuing into Mr O'Toole's death.
