A woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting or encouraging suicide after the death of a teenager.
Lancashire Constabulary officers were called to an address on Blackburn Road in Clayton-le-Moors at 1.45am on Thursday (July 9).
They had been called due to concerns for the welfare of a man and a woman at the address.
Inside the house officers found the body of a 19-year-old man. A 46-year-old woman was also present, according to police she had suffered serious injuries.
The woman was given first aid at the scene before being taken to hospital, she is currently in a stable condition.
The same 46-year-old has since been arrested on suspicion of assisting or encouraging suicide.
The incident is currently being treated as unexplained but there is nothing to suggest any other people were involved.
A postmortem examination has been carried out on the man but the cause of death remains unascertained, according to a Lancashire police spokersperson.
