A 29-year-old woman has died and two others were seriously injured after a car collided with a construction digger in the early hours of this morning.
Essex Police say the woman was believed to be a passenger in the horrific crash on the A138 near the Boreham Interchange.
Another woman and a man, who are believed to be a second passenger and the driver of a dark BMW 3 Series car, were both rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit.
It has also been reported that the car caught fire and flipped, EssexLive reports.
Two people had to be cut out of the car.
Essex Police were called shortly after 3.10am after a car collided with a construction digger.
As of noon today, the road was still closed.
Police are appealing for anyone to come forward with information.
