Wolves vs Man City: Team news, line-ups and more ahead of Premier League fixture tonight

Pep Guardiola’s side’s extended 2019/20 season meant they missed gameweek 1 of the new term, while Wolves defeated Sheffield United 2-0.

54 mins: Watkins meets yet another Aston Villa cross, this one coming in from the right wing. Watkins gets his head to the cross and sends it over the bar.

51 mins: Sheffield United are very disciplined at the back. Villa have been able to get a number of crosses into the box since the restart but none have threatened the goalkeeper.

48 mins: Ezri Konsa seems to have tweaked something in his left hamstring but he’s carrying on for Villa. The home side are dominating possession but they aren’t penetrating the Blades’ defence.

Second half: No half-time changes from either side. Villa get us back underway, Hourihane sends one into the box and Ampadu heads the ball clear.

After this game we’ll be bringing you all the action from Molineux as Wolves take on Manchester City. The team news is expected in around 15 minutes and we’ll let you know when we have it.

Easily the talking point of the first half, John Egan becomes only the player to be sent off twice for Sheffield United in the Premier League.

45+4 mins: Red cards, penalties, VAR. This half has had everything except a goal. Sheffield United are down to 10-men but they’ve had the best chance of the game.

John Lundstram with the penalty but a great save by Emi Martinez. What will the second half bring?

45 mins: Four minutes added on at the end of the first half.

42 mins: Grealish has the ball in the Sheffield United box for Villa but he can’t find an opening to shoot. Instead he lays it off to the edge of the box and sets up Hourihane. Hourihane hits the pass first time and misses to the left.

39 mins: Things are going from bad to worse for Chris Wilder’s men. It was a good save from Martinez on debut. Matt Targett picked up a yellow card for giving away the penalty.

But, there is a sliver of hope that the Blades can catch Villa on the counter attack.
