Wolves have had a mini wobble in recent weeks - losing back to back in the Premier League before a goalless FA Cup draw with Manchester United.

But one of those defeats was at Anfield. And was unfortunate. And prior to that Wolves beat the champions Manchester City.

That's the scale of the task facing Steve Bruce's men on Saturday. We asked our Newcastle expert Mark Douglas for his verdict on Saturday's showdown - and the best betting tips.

Win, lose or draw?

Draw - at best. Newcastle are struggling for form and their best attacking outlet Allan Saint-Maximin continues to recuperate from a hamstring injury. With Jonjo Shelvey also missing, it may be a day to dig in and hope for a point. That's 10/3 with thepools.com if you fancy Toon to see the job through. If you're wildly optimistic the away win is 7/1 .

Who's a good bet for 1st scorer?

With Shelvey out and Saint-Maximin still injured, it's difficult to see where goals are going to come from. Defenders have weighed in this season but Fabian Schar's injured so maybe Miguel Almiron might be a decent shout. He's got two in four after going a long spell without a goal. For a man in form he's a big 16/1 to score the first goal and 13/2 to score at anytime in the match.

Who's on the naughty step? (first card)

Isaac Hayden likes a tackle and could well be the first in the book if this one becomes a midfield battle.

Who's on pens?

If he's back, Matt Ritchie. Made his return last week so could well feature. Otherwise it would be Almiron. Does that 16/1 look even more tempting now?

Will Newcastle keep a clean sheet?

Doubtful. Newcastle's fine period of form was established on an excellent defence but - in Bruce's words - they've made schoolboy errors recently and haven't had a shut out since beating Palace before Christmas. Both Teams To Score is a solid 5/4 price with thepools.com.
