Wishaw and Motherwell have been named in the top 20 of unfaithful towns in Scotland.
The 2020 league table from IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating site for married people, revealed that Motherwell finished third in the chart with Wishaw in 11th place.
The table was topped by Dumfries which had a total of 871 people sign up to the adultery website.
The interactive Infidelity Index allows users to search a city, town or postcode to discover how many people are having affairs in any Scottish locality.
This year’s table from IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating site for married people, shows that cheating has risen by four per cent in Scotland over the last year despite the Covid-19 crisis.
IllicitEncounters.com sex and relationship expert Jessica Leoni said: “We have seen a further rise in cheating over the last year in Scotland, even in the last six months covered by Covid.
“The main reason for this is lockdown cabin fever - increasing numbers of people have become fed-up with their partners after being stuck together at home for most of this year and even denied a summer holiday in many cases.

“The Covid fear factor largely went at the start of the summer. People started dating again and cheating numbers surged as lots of new relationships were forged.”
