Winds travelling over 52mph were recorded last night in Merseyside as the wild weather continues to batter the region.
Despite it being six degrees, the current temperature feels like zero degrees following a chilly start this morning.
But there's good news on the way as the weather starts to improve.
Today showers will clear into the afternoon with sunny spells developing. Winds will ease into this evening.
It will be a generally cloudless night coupled with light winds.
Patchy mist and fog to develop, particularly in inland areas as we enter the early hours of tomorrow morning (February 5). Temperatures teetering around freezing, dropping below zero in rural areas.
Any fog will be slow to clear. However, once cleared, it will be a chilly but bright day, with conditions feeling milder than recently in the sunshine and light winds.
But we can expect sunny weather on Thursday and Friday (February 6 and 7) as the forecast predicts a dry and settled day.
