After back to back defeats to kick off their Group A campaign, Rangers need a victory against Brondby at Ibrox to keep qualification hopes alive.

The Danish champions have the advantage in the section over the Ibrox side with one point after a draw against Sparta Prague.

And that makes it - by Steven Gerrard's own admission - a must-win encounter if they are to have any chance of reaching the knockout stage for a third successive season.

The Light Blues will be without Glen Kamara who is suspended after his red card in the defeat to Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic which game after a home loss to French cracks Lyon.

Here, the Record Sport writers give their score predictions ahead of the big match.

Rangers need a win tonight to have any realistic hope of getting through to the knock-out rounds for a third successive season. And they should have enough to get it. Recent signs indicate that Steven Gerrard’s side is starting to move up through the gears but they’ll have to be close to their best against an organised Danish outfit.

Steven Gerrard has called on Alfredo Morelos to get his act together and the European stage is one upon which he has excelled. I fancy him to be the man who makes the difference tonight.

Both sides are suffering a hangover after winning historic league titles last term but the Danes’ is a proper stinker, with just four wins from 17 games so far so I reckon it will be Gers who get a Europa League curer. Steven Gerrard has made no secret of the fact this is a must-win clash for his team and I can see his striker’s responding to his sharpen-up call with Alfredo Morelos finally breaking through the 100-goal barrier.

It’s a matter of time before Rangers start sticking away these chances and Brondby are no great shakes. If Gers get an early goal it will be a cruise.

There are signs Rangers are beginning to click as an attacking force again as the first half display against Hearts showed on Saturday. But it’s at the business end in both boxes that they’ve still to really find their ruthless streak which remains a concern. They’ll have enough to get three points on the board at home this evening. But it could be another tense occasion.

Rangers have enjoyed some special European nights at Ibrox during Steven Gerrard's time in charge at the club and they must produce another one to have any chance of qualification. There is no hiding the fact this is a must-win game but, while they have improved in recent weeks, the Danes have toiled this season and the Ibrox men should have too much. The stage is set for Alfredo Morelos to become a Gers centurion after Gerrard threw down the gauntlet.
