HIGH FASHION

DESIGNER Patrick Grant has become a firm favourite amongst The Great British Sewing Bee fans.

But away from the show, the Scotsman has enjoyed an incredible career in fashion.

Who is Patrick Grant from The Great British Sewing Bee?

Born on May 1, 1972, Patrick James Grant is a fashion designer and businessman from Scotland.

He is the director of bespoke tailors Norton & Sons of Savile Row, E. Tautz & Sons, Community Clothing, and textile manufacturer Cookson & Clegg.

Since 2013, he has been a judge on reality series The Great British Sewing Bee, which first aired on BBC Two before moving to BBC One in 2020.

After taking over Norton & Sons in 2005, Grant has been credited with rejuvenating the once ailing business.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Patrick campaigned for people to make masks at home.

He also used one of his businesses, the Community Clothing label, which is made at Cookson & Clegg’s factory in Blackburn, to make PPE in the form of scrubs and anti-viral snoods for the NHS.

In 2018, Patrick was named co-chair of the Prince of Wales' charity Future Textiles, an organisation that works towards creating jobs in the UK's garment making industry.

Then in 2023 he hosted a BBC documentary called Coronation Tailors: Fit for a King.

The one-off special went behind-the-scenes at the family business creating thousands of bespoke ceremonial uniforms for the King's coronation.

Does Patrick Grant have a girlfriend?

Patrick and his girlfriend of eight years, designer Katie Hillier, split up back in 2016.

The couple used to divide their time between her homes in Marylebone and Oxfordshire.

As of 2023, Patrick is understood to be single, but in 2020 he revealed he wouldn't shy away from dating a fan.

Who is his ex girlfriend Katie Hillier?

London born Katie Hillier is a British fashion designer, who specialises in mostly bags and accessories.

She launched her own jewellery label, Hillier, in 2010.

By May 2013, she was the creative director of Marc by Marc Jacobs, and in 2015, she launched Hillier Bartley with fellow designer Luella Bartley.
