For many, it is the biggest night out of the year.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of people have been out and about in Hull for Mad Friday to celebrate Christmas the way we know best.

Plenty of Christmas jumpers were on display in the city's Old Town after punters rushed home from work ahead of a big night on the town.

Parts of Hull, including High Street and Silver Street, appeared much busier than normal for the time of the year as pubs were packed to the rafters with people wanting to celebrate the festive period, getting an early pay day, the last day of work - or all three!

While a well-earned night out can, and usually is, enjoyed responsibly, dozens of Humberside Police's finest were also on hand to keep a close eye on proceedings.

Two vans full of officers were deployed across Hull to make sure you were al behaving yourselves, while 11 more were out in some of the East Riding's towns and villages to make sure it went off without a hitch.

And, as ever, we had a photographer out and about on the streets too, grabbing snaps of just some of you enjoying the biggest night out of all.
