Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain will meet on Tuesday in what is set to be one of the standout matches of this year's Champions League competition.

There's a major buzz around PSG at the moment, with the Ligue 1 giants having made a number of stellar additions to their already stacked squad.

The most exciting signing is that of Lionel Messi, who is poised to make his return to the team after a short layoff. The captures of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi, Sergio Ramos and Georginio Wijnaldum make the Parisians one of the big favourites for European glory.

Even so, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Club Brugge in their tournament opener and that puts extra emphasis on this encounter at the Parc des Princes. A defeat on Tuesday would have PSG fans sweating over their potential progression from the group, with RB Leipzig another strong outfit within it.

City did beat PSG in Paris in the semi-finals of last year's competition too and spirits will be high in Pep Guardiola 's squad after their win over Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

With a trip to Liverpool to come on Sunday, City are likely to make some changes to the XI. However, given they have a squad packed full of elite talent, there shouldn't be a huge drop off in quality if they do.
