Bruno Fernandes has been included in Manchester United's squad to face Liverpool this afternoon at Old Trafford, despite initial fears that he would miss out due to injury.

The Portuguese international was a doubt for today's fixture after picking up a knock, which left manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer unsure as to whether or not Fernandes would be involved.

Speaking at his pre- Liverpool press conference, the United boss said: "Games like Wednesday will always bring knocks and bruises.

"We have two or three with knocks but I hope I can pick from a fit squad. Bruno might be a doubt but he's doing everything he can to be fit."

It now appears as though the 27-year-old will be available to feature for the Red Devils after he was pictured on arrival at United's pre-match Lowry Hotel base yesterday evening.

Fernandes has not missed a single game through injury since joining United from Sporting Lisbon January 2019, and now looks set to maintain this record.

Such news has come as no surprise to Liverpool fans, however.

With Fernandes now fully recovered for today's heavyweight clash, Liverpool supporters were quick to point out that they had no doubts this would be the case.

In terms of injuries for Jurgen Klopp's side, Thiago Alcantara remains sidelined but Curtis Jones could make his return for the Reds at Old Trafford.
