Supply chain disruption stemming from a shortage of delivery drivers has already had a knock of effect for stock levels at some supermarkets across Merseyside.

It has now also been reported that a rise in gas prices could have also have an adverse effect on the levels of food production, adding further worry over potential food shortages as we head into the winter months.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has outlined that the problems are only temporary, but has admitted that some aspects of the food sector is struggling - adding fears over possible shortages around the festive season.
