We try out dairy alternatives and beauty supplements for glowing skin

ALTERNATIVES to dairy are booming right now. Millions of us are going vegan, have allergies, are lactose intolerant or simply cutting down on milk products.

Today we look at some of the options on the market, good and not so good, as well as the best beauty potions and formulas.

MINOR Figures Organic Oat Milk is described as a “barista-standard” dairy-free drink. This is vegan-friendly but not gluten-free.

I tried this in my coffee machine and it really did froth up. Plus I really liked the slightly sweet oaty taste. I would definitely use this again.

NUSH’s gut-friendly Almond & Chive Cheese is an almond spread with live vegan cheese cultures, salt and chives.

It was lovely on a bagel for breakfast and worked brilliantly as a sauce with pasta. And my 18-month-old loved it.

GROUNDED’s Protein Chocolate Milkshake is a dairy-free, plant-based drink with organic cocoa powder and creamy coconut milk.

But the sunflower-seed taste was overpowering.

AN AWARD-WINNING powder full of the fancy things you need for great skin. There are 48 active ingredients, from marine collagen to probiotics, plus vitamins for hormone balance.

I loved this and after three weeks my skin was definitely less dry. It also has a 30-day money back guarantee, just in case.

A FERMENTED food supplement that is rich in live bacteria. A great combination of probiotics and postbiotics, plus it contains 32.5mg of vitamin C for collagen production.

I didn’t notice a huge difference in my skin after a month of using this berry-flavoured powder but I felt less tired.

THESE are tablets, so if you can’t stand the powders this could be a good option. Contains 19 vitamins and minerals to help promote healthy hair, skin and nails.

There isn’t anything in here for gut health – this is simply about the correct vitamins for glowing skin. A decent basic mix.
