Lockdown and out...
Wales is going into a short, sharp two-week lockdown with people told to stay at home, pubs and shops judged non-essential shutting and many classrooms closed.
The country has a marginally lower infection rate than the other three nations in the United Kingdom, but the lockdown may be merely the first – as leaders in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland battle to suppress the virus.
The Welsh Labour Government announced nearly £300million to support businesses hit by their move and the Conservative Government in London must follow suit as the North East, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Greater Manchester may all soon join Merseyside and Lancashire under Tier 3 regulations.
Unless both livelihoods and lives are saved, not only will large swathes of our land be devastated but lockdown compliance will be undermined as workers losing wages kick back against the Government.
