Video shows man accidentally spitting as he talks to pal in pub sparking outrage over how easily coronavirus is spread

THIS is the moment a boozer accidentally spits all over a pub table - showing how easily coronavirus is spread.

The elderly man was filmed enjoying a pint with his mate when he was caught spraying a wall of saliva over the table.

Light coming in through the window shows how far his spit travels - sparking a fierce debate about coronavirus online.

The video, which has been watched more than 2.8million times after it was filmed in Manchester, was shared online with the caption: "This is Covid".

One viewer wrote: "Everyone who ever claims that masks don’t work, needs to see this video."

Another said: "I feel for the individual sat opposite being sprayed by this saliva volcano."

One person tweeted: "Soon as I saw the first spit bomb go off I got uncomfortable in my own home."

While another said: "'F***ing disgusting."

But some viewers pointed out the man might have a medical condition.

They wrote: "It’s sad that y’all don’t know that some old people have a condition that causes them to not be able to hold in their spit and most of them don’t even know they’re spitting."

Another said: "I hope y’all understand that we all literally do this, obviously much much less than this man, but we all do this. So please…wear a mask."

The average sneeze can propel droplets of coronavirus a whopping four metres - or 13ft, scientists say.

And germs can live for up to 45 minutes - long enough for several people to unwittingly pick up the killer virus.

It comes as Boris Johnson tonight warned the nation "your cough could be someone else's death knell" as he urged Brits to pull together to avoid a second lockdown.

In a live TV address - only the third time he has spoken to the nation in a recorded broadcast during the pandemic - he reassured the public that there "are great days ahead" once the fight against covid is over.

But he warned he would have no choice but to impose “significantly greater restrictions” later this year if the new measures fail to bring the ‘R’ value of the virus below 1.
