Reality star Vicky Pattison managed to ruffle feathers when she posted a relatable meme about the pitfalls of Christmas food shopping.
The former I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! winner and Geordie Shore star upset some followers after sharing a jokey post on her Instagram.
The meme read: "To the woman in Aldi in front of me at the checkout with 107 items and didn't let me jump in front of you with my carrot and turnip.
"When you get home and are looking for your gourmet burgers and biscuits, I threw them underneath the counter with the bags."
Vicky added jokingly: "Take that you auld boot ... Christmas shoppers terrify me."
Unfortunately some fans didn't realise that it was a joke and took Vicky to task.
"Vicky you have no idea what is going on in that human's life and what you did was hardly Christmas spirited," said one.
"Maybe she’s already let a few people in front of her already and like everyone else just wants to get home. Oh yeah and it’s called queuing and us British are good at it," scolded another follower.
"In your bio you stated that you are 'a supporter of females' and yet here you are bringing one down," wrote another.
Vicky returned to the post to explain that the scenario didn't actually happen.
"My post was a meme... you need to a) calm down b) lighten up and c) get a sense of humour. This is Instagram come on now. Have a lovely Christmas," she said.
"I thought this was hysterical - I’ve sent it to all my friends," said another fan.
The post was also appreciated by Katie Price who replied with flam emojis and said: "I move that."
Other followers were prompted to share their own stories of festive shopping woe.
One wrote: "Vicky this morning I let someone in front of me who only had crackers and she barely grunted a thank you AND definitely did not smile so I thought 'never ever again'!!!!"
