Vicky Pattison has hit back after coming under fire from social media users for a Christmas food jibe she made on Instagram.
The former I'm A Celebrity winner, who this week was on home turf for a sponsored swim, shared what she thought was a funny but perfectly innocent meme to her millions of followers about the gruelling task that is getting the big food shop in for Christmas.
It read: "To the woman in Aldi in front of me at the checkout with 107 items and didn't let me jump in front of you with my carrot and turnip.
"When you get home and are looking for your gourmet burgers and biscuits, I threw them underneath the counter with the bags."
Vicky captioned it "Take that you auld boot ... Christmas shoppers terrify me," but, failing to see the funny side, some people weren't impressed with the post.
Vicky you have no idea what is going on in that human's life and what you did was hardly Christmas spirited," said one.
"Maybe she’s already let a few people in front of her already and like everyone else just wants to get home. Oh yeah and it’s called queuing and us British are good at it," said another follower.
"In your bio you stated that you are 'a supporter of females' and yet here you are bringing one down," wrote another.
However, plenty of others got the joke, with one quipping: "Great idea never thought of it I will next time."
And another said: "This made me laugh."
Vicky returned to Instagram to make it clear she never actually threw the burgers and biscuits under the counter, writing: "My post was a meme... you need to a) calm down b) lighten up and c) get a sense of humour.
"This is Instagram come on now. Have a lovely Christmas."
