Manchester United have been handed a double injury boost for the Premier League showdown with Tottenham.

As the dust continues to settle on a heavy and humiliating defeat to bitter rivals Liverpool, that 5-0 reverse might yet have drastic repercussions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his position at the helm.

However, for the time being anyway, it seems key figures at Old Trafford are standing by their manager.

Things don't get any easier for the Norwegian, though, as he prepares to embrace a challenging triple-header that will have a significant impact on his future - one way or another.

Starting with Tottenham on Saturday afternoon (5.30pm), the Premier League giants are also in action vs Atalanta and neighbours Manchester City between now and November 6.

France duo Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial are back in training, though, after picking up injuries while on Les Bleus earlier this month.

Paul Pogba is suspended for three games, meanwhile, on the back of him seeing red against Liverpool.

Here is the state of play on the treatment table at Carrington;

Anthony Martial

Injury: n/a

Possible return date: October 30 vs Tottenham (A)

What Solskjaer has said: "He's come back from France [duty] not fit so he's not trained all week. Hopefully, we can have him back soon. Anthony joined in training [last Tuesday], but he's still not fit enough to join us."

Raphael Varane

Injury: Groin (on international duty)

Possible return date: October 30 vs Tottenham (A)

What Solskjaer has said: "[During the] internationals sometimes, it's a time to cross your fingers. Raphael is out for a few weeks. He's working hard. As I said, it's hard to put a time limit on players that you don't really know - but he's been on the grass."
