US presidential election 2020 schedule: When are they and how many are there?

PRESIDENT Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden are expected to debate three times over four weeks.

Their running mates Kamala Harris and Mike Pence will also face off.

When are the US presidential election debates 2020?

The US presidential election debates will take place between September 9-October 22.

First presidential debate, September 29

The first presidential debate will be held on September 29 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Fox News journalist Chris Wallace will be moderating the debate. 

It will last 90 minutes with each contender having 15 minutes to answer the questions.

Topics of the debate will include the current Supreme Court vacancy, coronavirus, the economy, race and violence in American cities, their records in office, and the integrity of the election.

There will be no commercial breaks during the debate.

The debate will be held at Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic.

Vice presidential debate, October 7

The vice presidential debate will be held between California Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence.

It will be moderated by Susan Page of USA Today and will take place at The University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

The debate will be divided into nine segments which will last 10 minutes each.

According to the commission, the candidates will have two minutes to answer Page's opening question, and will then use the rest of the time to facilitate a wider discussion on the topic.

Second presidential debate, October 15

The second presidential debate between Trump and Biden will be held at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, in Miami.

It will be moderated by Steve Scully of C-SPAN Networks.

The debate will see South Florida citizens pose questions to the presidential candidates. The crowd will be uncommitted voters selected by Frank Newport of Gallup, according to the commission.

The discussion will unfold in a similar format to the Vice presidential debate.

Last presidential debate, October 22

The final Trump vs. Biden debate will take place at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

It will be moderated by Kristen Welker of NBC News.

The format of the debate will be the same as the first presidential debate.

How can I watch the debates?

All debates are scheduled to take place from 9pm to 10:30pm ET on their respective dates without commercial breaks.

The debates will be broadcast on all major networks and their corresponding streaming channels, as well as on C-SPAN.
