University Challenge viewers swoon over hunky contestant Carew – but the praise doesn’t last long

DISTRACTED University Challenge viewers couldn’t focus on the questions this week, as they were too busy swooning over one of the players.

Keelan Carew, who is studying classical piano at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, battled with his teammates against students from the University of Dundee.

On Twitter, University Challenge fans were full of compliments for the buff student.

“Carew is so hench because he’s carrying the rest of his team… #UniversityChallenge” quipped one viewer.

Another swooned: “Can Carew pls take his shirt off?! #ManCrushMonday #UniversityChallenge”

“OK, im going Royal college, Carew, ooh er.” joked another.

“Hello Carew those arms #UniversityChallenge” gasped a fourth viewer.

Carew scored several points for his team, correctly identifying the theme tunes to TV shows and films Stranger Things, Twin Peaks and Blade Runner.

Unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough, as Dundee beat RNCM by 10 points, scoring 145 to 135.

Carew and his crew were gracious in defeat, especially as host Jeremy Paxman revealed that their score could see them return as one of the highest scoring losing teams.

“Gutted for #Carew and team. So close! Medway is still proud of you #UniversityChallenge” commiserated one tweeter.

Another viewer added: “#UniversityChallenge Distracted by Carew’s guns.
