Everton fans have had their say on the club's start to the season as the Blues returned from the international break in disappointing fashion.

Marco Silva's side were in good spirits heading into a clash with Bournemouth on Sunday, but left the Vitality Stadium having suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Eddie Howe's men.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the Blues only goal of the game after Callum Wilson's opener - but another from the striker and a deflected Ryan Fraser free kick were enough to seal all three points for the Cherries.

That leaves Everton with seven points from their first five games as they prepare for an important home clash with newly-promoted Sheffield United on Saturday.

But, how does that start sit with the club's supporters?

We asked Blues fans on social media how they would rate the club's beginning to the campaign and received a wide range of responses.

Gary McNaughton: "Typically mediocre - same tactics as last season, slow to build from the back and a lack of ability to attack at pace."

Alan Hope: "So much promise before the season started but extremely disappointing. If we had beaten Aston Villa and Bournemouth, which we should have done easily, we would have been 2nd in the league with 13 points. Too many supposedly big players under performing. Frustrating."

Craig Mills: "We’ve beaten the teams who currently occupy the bottom 2 places in the PL and only got 1 point from our other 3 games . It’s a shocking start to the season given how 'easy' the fixtures looked."

Colin Code: "Same as other seasons, good at home, rubbish away. Until that changes we are going nowhere."

Sheila Prince: "Work in progress, it takes time with new players doesn't happen overnight."

Michael Lee: "The usual unfortunately.... zero improvement again."

Stuart Welton: "Uninspiring! There was so much hope!"

Steve Wilson: "Not very good! Home form just about passable but still needs improvement. Away form is bloody awful!"

Billy Fleming: "One of the easiest starts to a league campaign we have had for years and yet again we can’t seem to get going at the start of the season, are we taking these teams too lightly, is Silva looking to see who his best players are with squad rotation, we need this sorted out fast and let’s kick on instead of waiting on the January transfer window opening to see who we can bring in."

Darren Clancy: "Opportunity missed - not a tough start to season but made it seem it."
