Flurries of snow are set to hit parts of England with yellow warnings issued for some parts of the country.

Freezing temperatures are expected to continue on, plummeting to as low as -2C in parts of England.

The Met Office has forecasted today’s weather to be a combination of rain, sleet, snow and small hail.

“Some of the showers heavy and containing a wintry mix, giving a temporary covering of snow over some hills,” it continued.

However Brits excited to be venturing out to the beer gardens when they reopen on Monday will be relieved to know that the freezing temperatures are set to make way for clear blue skies on Monday.

However forecasters are warning it will still be chilly so those wanting to brave the temperatures should wrap up warm.

The government’s plan of easing lockdown measures steps up on April 12, with non-essential shops, gyms, restaurants and pubs reopening for the first time in weeks.

Met Office spokesman Nicola Maxey, said: “By the time we get to Monday, it’s certainly looking fine, dry and cold in the south.”

The Met Office has also issued yellow snow and ice warnings for parts of northern England, with Manchester set to be hit until 8am today.

There are also snow warnings from 5am to 10am along the North Yorkshire coast stretching from Scarborough up to Middlesbrough.

In an official tweet the Met Office wrote: “Yellow weather warning issued. Snow affecting northeast England and North Yorkshire. 2 to 5 cm of snow possible on a high ground. Valid: 0500 until 1000 Sunday."
