A further 204 people have died from coronavirus in the UK as of 9am on June 6th, the Department of Health and Social Care have confirmed.

NHS England recorded an extra 75 fatalities as of 5pm on 5th June, bringing the country's total to 27,359.

Patients were aged between 43 and 100 years old and all had known underlying health conditions.

The Department of Health and Social Care said a total of 5,438,712 tests have been carried out, with 218,187 on June 5th.

Of those tested, 284,868 people have tested negative for Covid-19 across the UK since the pandemic began.
