Two people have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing following a raid in Burton.

Witnesses said they saw around 16 police officers in the Horninglow area of the town on one occasion.

A man and a woman were later arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drugs.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "Officers made two arrests on October 14 following a search of an address on Hevea Road, Horninglow.

"At 10.05am, officers located and arrested a 26-year-old man, from Burton, on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

"A 31-year-old woman, from Burton, was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug in addition to being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.

"Both have been released under investigation."
