The family of dad who died in a road accident in Staffordshire have paid tribute to him.

Stan Dominey, 72, was riding a motorcycle on Eccleshall Road near Forton, about three miles from Eccleshall, on Saturday, October 23, when he collided with a black Mercedes.

Despite the best efforts from paramedics, Mr Dominey, from Newport, Shropshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Now his family has told how he was a "much-loved husband, father and grandfather".

Stafford Police has launched an appeal for anyone with any information, including dashcam footage, of the incident to come forward.

A spokesperson from police said: "Stan Dominey was driving a blue Honda motorcycle on Eccleshall Road at 3.19pm on Saturday, October 23 when there was a collision with a black Mercedes.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, Stan, from Newport, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Witnesses who may have seen the vehicles before the collision or anyone with relevant dashcam footage should message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 469 of 23 October, or call 101."
