A baby has been found dead inside a house in Rochdale, with a man and a woman arrested on suspicion of neglect.
The four-month-old baby was pronounced dead at the scene of Buckley Lane in the early hours of Monday morning (February 22).
Police had been called to the scene following a report of a sudden death.
Officers have arrested a woman, aged 27, and man, aged 39, on suspicion of child neglect.
They have since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Pictures taken at the scene this morning show an officer standing guard outside a house on Buckley Lane, reports the MEN.
One police car was stationed on the road.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Officers were called at around 3.15am on 22 February to a report of a sudden death on Buckley Lane in Rochdale.
"Emergency services attended but sadly a four-month-old baby was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A 27-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of child neglect and bailed pending further enquiries.
"Enquiries are on-going to establish the circumstances around the death."
