THREE kids found alone on a street told cops “Mommy's dead” before leading them to a woman lying in the bathtub with stab wounds.
The siblings, aged three, five and eight, were spotted at 3am by a concerned San Antonio officer as they were wandering along a busy street.
The cop went up to the youngsters to ask why they were alone at such an early hour, on San Antonio's east side on Tuesday morning.
The traumatized children replied: “Mommy’s dead and there's blood everywhere," said a police statement.
After calling for back-up, officers took the hungry three and five-year-olds to a convenience store for a snack.
Meanwhile, the eight-year-old led other cops to the family apartment.
Once there, the child showed them the injured mother.
She was found pouring with blood from multiple stab wounds in a bathtub, police said.
The mom was hospitalized in a serious condition after suffering stab wounds to both her legs, and abdomen.
It's not known how she received the horrific injuries.
San Antonio Police said that the mom has so far refused to reveal what happened.
She's not as yet cooperating with the investigation, according to the police statement.
The stabbing comes several months after the Sun Online reported that a 50-year-old mom was tragically found shot dead in the bathtub of her New York City apartment.
Ramona Rodriguez-Reynoso was found by officers at around 10pm on Friday with a gunshot wound to her head.
The wound was so severe that police initially believed that she had been attacked with a machete, the New York Daily News reported.
Her boyfriend of 30 years, German Reynoso, 57, was recently extradited to New York and charged with murder.
