One of Thiago Alcantara’s former coaches has explained how Liverpool will adapt following his arrival.

The Reds completed the signing of the 29-year-old from Bayern Munich on Friday, with the Spain international putting pen to paper on a four-year deal at Anfield.

It was a transfer that has excited supporters across the world, and will no doubt help Liverpool on their quest for more silverware this term.

During his time in Munich, Thiago won seven Bundesliga titles, four DFB-Pokal cups and one Champions League, which was secured last month in Lisbon.

Klopp will hope that Thiago adds further quality to his squad as they look to challenge on all fronts domestically and on the European stage.

Former Barcelona and Real Madrid star Luis Milla enjoyed a successful playing career, and went on to become a highly-rated coach.

Milla coached the Spain Under-21 team which won the 2011 World Championships, where a 20-year-old Thiago was the star of the tournament.

He has gone on to explain how Thiago will be a good influence at Anfield, and may also change the way Liverpool play.

"Liverpool and their manager have understood his quality and are a club that act very quickly," Milla told The Mirror.

"They have players of such a high quality both physically and mentally, that run and dominate games, and Thiago will fit in with that philosophy perfectly.

“Liverpool have grown so much, and want to win everything, but to make this signing is a huge statement of intent.

"He’s now a world-class central midfielder. He will, of course, have to adapt to the quality of the Premier League but he is definitely capable of doing so.

"I think ultimately he will end up dictating the pace of Liverpool's play, the rhythm of the game, and that’s why they have signed him."
