Ian Evatt believes young Bolton Wanderers trio Ronan Darcy, Adam Senior and Dennis Politic have not looked out of place in the first team environment as the three academy products continue to develop.
Attackers Darcy and Politic and central defender Senior have been getting game time in pre-season for Wanderers ahead of the new League One campaign.
Winger Politic made his return after a year out injured over the weekend in the pre-season victory over Barrow, while Darcy has impressed and scored twice so far during the friendly schedule Wanderers have played so far.
And Senior has also been getting game time in the heart of defence, one of the competitive areas of the the Bolton squad.
Evatt praised the trio and believes they have not looked out of place in first team training as he highlighted their development over the past year.
He said: “Obviously the standard of our training group has improved ten fold since I’ve come to the club and we’ve bought in a better quality of player so the standard obviously improves.
"They haven’t looked out of place, which is great. Adam Senior is developing as fast as anybody at the moment. He’s starting to get stronger physically, he’s aggressive and he trains more aggressively than anybody and I love that about him. He wants to win in every five a side and every small sided game.
“Ronan physically has developed from last season and he’s done well pre-season but he’s in a highly competitive area of the pitch.
"Dennis, he’s got talent, there’s no two ways about that, and he can do things that other people can’t so but we need to improve his tactical understanding and that’s part of it.
"Some players get it quicker than others so we’ll work with Dennis. We’ll keep doing the physical work with him.
"We’ll keep educating him, and once we get that side of things in to his game, then he’s going to be a real threat for oppositions in League One.”
