The former Conservative spin doctor will step out into public on Friday at an environmental conference in Leicestershire. Miss Symonds will give a speech to birdwatchers in Rutland, according to The Daily Telegraph. She will address the crowd in her capacity as an ocean conservationist, according to Birdfair’s website.

Mr Dyer, chief executive of the Badger Trust, told The Daily Telegraph: “She will be opening it by doing a speech, setting the theme for the event.

"She will be talking about the importance of Birdfair and her own passion and interest in conservation and wildlife protection.

"She's there as an independent wildlife campaigner and will speak about her own experience of wildlife watching.

"It'll be interesting and inspiring to have someone in Downing Street there who cares so much about wildlife."

Organisers have reportedly said Miss Symonds’ speech will “set the theme of the event”.

It comes as Miss Symond’s recently posted about seeing a puffin while in Iceland. She wrote on Twitter: “Saw a puffin for the first time last month. I was so excited.

"They are far smaller than I expected but you can’t miss them with their amazing rainbow bills. I also found out that a baby puffin is called a puffling. Just can’t understand why anyone would want to shoot them. Mad."

The 31-year-old is reportedly receiving guidance from the UK’s former “First Lady”, Samantha Cameron who was in office from 2010 to 2016.

One of Miss Symonds friends told The Daily Mail: “Samantha Cameron has been giving Carrie some advice on living in No 10. They're friends; she wants to help out.”

Miss Symonds and Mr Johnson moved into a four-bedroom flat above No 11 Downing Street last month.

Despite speculation that Mr Johnson may have needed new furniture to be paid for by the state, a spokeswoman said "there's no cost to the taxpayer".

Miss Symonds will not have any publicly-funded staff working for her, Number 10 indicated.

The spokeswoman added: "In relation to her living at Number 10 there won't be any additional cost to the taxpayer."

They are the first unmarried couple to officially live in Number 10.
