It's a new generation of England footballers competing on the pitch at Euro 2020, and that means a whole new squad of wives and girlfriends cheering them on too.

The 2021 WAGs appear to have very much bonded, with many of the women posing up for a photo together ahead of cheering on their partners at the opening England match at Wembley on Sunday.

Jordan Pickford's wife Megan Davison posted the image above on her Instagram, with all the ladies wearing their England shirts - teamed with denim hotpants and trainers ready for 'game day'.

The footballer's wives and partners all have to undergo Covid screening 48 hours before each game in line with the health and safety protocols at the 2020 tournament, which has been delayed a year due to the pandemic.

In footballing tournaments of recent years, super-WAGs Coleen Rooney and Victoria Beckham were seen as the leaders of the wives and girlfriends collective.

But this time around, Coleen has been cheering on the team alongside her retired England captain husband Wayne in the stands.

She was pictured at Sunday's Euro 2020 match having a good old chinwag with Annie Kilner, the wife of Manchester City player Kyle Walker, and fellow Cheshire resident.

Here's our teamsheet of the women cheering on their footballing partners in this summer's tournament.
