Cans have disappeared from a city centre park after their illusive origin continues to remain a mystery.
The row of empty beer cans had been described by passing drivers as "looking like tinsel" after they lined the major entrance to the city along Ferensway.
Drivers had thought the new addition to the perimeter of the fence, close to William Booth House, was either an art installation or were doubling-up as Christmas decorations.
It is believed they had been placed on each spike of the black railings - which run parallel to the dual carriageway on Ferensway - from three shopping trolleys full of the cans found nearby.
A spokeswoman for William Booth House has previously confirmed the cans were not on its property.
They had first appeared on the fence around a week ago before they were removed by Wednesday evening.
