THE Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons has made his long-awaited debut on The Simpsons as a millionaire nerd.

The 46-year-old actor appeared as himself in the latest episode of the hit cartoon, 'Frinkcoin', explaining a Bitcoin parody in a video watched by Lisa Simpson.

Lisa meets with Professor Frink to interview him and find out how he became the richest man in Springfield with his cryptocurrency.

Mr Frink then plays her an explainer video by "TV's most beloved scientist Mr Jim Parsons", where Jim appears in front of mountains of money - a visual gag about earning lots of money from Big Bang Theory residuals.

Jim says: "People think I'm a nerd, but I'm actually super cool.

"That's why I'm here to talk about the really cool subject of distributed consensus-based cryptocurrency. Kerchinga!"

A daredevil biker is then seen launching himself over a number of trucks, before landing and climbing off the bike.

Another man in an identical outfit then gets on the bike and taking off the helmet, reveals himself to be Jim.

He says: "Could a real nerd do that? I don't think so".

Jim played Sheldon Cooper on the hit CBS sitcom for 12 seasons until it came to an end in May last year.

One of the reasons the show ended was because Jim and some of his other cast mates did not want to return for a 13th season.

Speaking about his reasons, Jim previously said: "It was the first time in my life of doing this show that it occurred to me that I might want to not do another contract after [season] 12 was up.

"There was no factor; there was no situation that I was like, 'Well, I've had enough of that.' No. There was nothing like that. It was just... when you know, you know.

"And you're susceptible and thrown around by the whims of your own existence and getting to a certain age and your life changes and suddenly you just think different."
