The best mini breaks in Europe from £119pp including Spanish cities, festive hotspots and Iceland

AS the nights draw in and the travel rules relax, it’s time to lighten things up with a bargain city break to European gems like Budapest, Barcelona or Berlin.

Vaccinated holidaymakers can now hop over to Europe with almost the same ease as before the pandemic, with just a cheap lateral flow Covid test required upon your return when the rules are fully implemented from the end of October.

While you will have to check the entry rules before booking a holiday - with some countries still wanting negative tests from Brits - there are some great deals to be had on mini breaks right now, with flight and hotel packages from easyJet and BA Holidays to Spanish cities Barcelona, Madrid and Seville from £119pp.

You can also snap up brilliant deals to classic city break destinations Lisbon, Dublin and Venice from £119pp – ideal for a weekend away with friends or a partner.

Brits planning on a winter getaway with a festive feel can find discounted deals to Berlin to enjoy the famous German Christmas markets this December.

Meanwhile there are cheap breaks to Hungarian capital Budapest and Czech city Prague, which are at their most magical over the Christmas period with busy markets and decorations.

Winter is also a brilliant time for a short break to Iceland to see its snowy natural wonders and hopefully the northern lights.

Two-night breaks to usually-pricey Reykjavik are currently on offer from £179pp.

From shopping and sights to glimpsing the northern lights, all these European cities have plenty to delight visitors.
