The grade II listed Georgian house is set within one and a half acres of gardens overlooking the beautiful Vale of Clwyd and the Clwydian Range, an area of outstanding natural beauty, only a few minutes drive from the medieval market town of Ruthin.
Its three double bedrooms, which range from £80 - £125 per night, are en-suite and individually furnished.
Speaking about winning the award, Anna Meadway, co-owner of Firgrove Country House, said: “We’re very pleased. It was a bit out of the blue, particularly after the last 18 months. We’ve managed to achieve all we could do through the AA. It’s very nice to be recognised and particularly as it is the AA themselves that come around and see us. We’re obviously doing something right I think.
“It’s nice to get guests back. We’re not at full pelt yet but next year we will be hopefully. This can only help.”

Guests at Firgrove Country House can enjoy an award-winning breakfast and dinner as it holds AA Breakfast and Dinner Awards 2021. Dinner is available with 48 hours notice and the menu includes homemade gravadlax, slow-cooked shoulder of local lamb and poached pear with sweet port sauce.
Commenting on her cooking, Anna said: “I’m not a trained chef but it’s good home cooking made with local produce. We always eat with our guests and people seem to enjoy that.”
Simon Numphud, Managing Director at AA Media, described Firgrove Country House as: “A wonderful grade II listed Georgian house standing in immaculate and mature gardens in a peaceful and rural location. It retains many original features and its bedrooms, complemented by smart modern bathrooms, are equipped with a wealth of thoughtful extras.
"Memorable breakfasts using homemade and local produce are served in an elegant dining room and the warmest of Welsh welcomes is assured from its owners.”
