Products are being recalled by some of our leading supermarkets over safety fears.

Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons have all issued alert notices over the last few days.

If you have purchased any of the affected products, return them to the store for a full refund.

Tesco

Tesco is recalling Hearty Food Company Cottage Pie and Hearty Food Company Sausage and Mash because it contains milk that is not mentioned on the label.

This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

If you have bought the above products and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, do not eat them.

Instead return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.

Morrisons

Morrisons is recalling Morrisons Minestrone Soup because some packs contain celery which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to celery.

The label also mentions that the product is suitable for vegans. The Minestrone Soup is not suitable for vegans as it contains bacon.

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to celery, do not eat it.

Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

Sainsbury's

As a precautionary measure, Sainsbury’s is voluntarily recalling all packs of by Sainsbury's Hypoallergenic recipe complete dry cat food with chicken 1+ Years 800g and with salmon 1+ Years 800g.

There is concern about the safety of the products.

There has been an increase in cases of pancytopenia in cats and there is a possible link to the cat food products listed.

Pancytopenia is a very rare condition wherein the number of blood cells (red, white and platelets) rapidly decreases, causing serious illness.

Sainsbury's said: "We are not willing to take any risks where the safety of our products is concerned and so we are asking customers who have purchased these products not to use them and to return the item to their nearest Sainsbury’s store for a full refund when they next visit."
