A terrified mum was held at knifepoint by masked thugs as they stole five English bulldogs just four weeks after they were born.
Samantha Stewart, 25, said the raiders kicked the pups' mum Polly in the head before fleeing with the litter worth thousands of pounds.
It came just days after Ms Stewart, from King's Norton, Birmingham, and her boyfriend put an advert on Facebook as they attempted to sell the dogs for up to £4,000 each.
Ms Stewart told BirminghamLive : "They kicked Polly in the head, it was horrendous, it was horrible. I was shaking after, I felt sick, I couldn't sleep.
"I had them over here because I'm on my own with my daughter I thought, it would be good for a bit of security - and then that happened."
The two robbers fled through Ms Stewart's garden and were thought to have handed the puppies over the fence to a third person to bundle into a bag on Thursday morning.
Ms Stewart had just dropped her daughter off at school when she found the masked intruders in her kitchen demanding the pups.
She said: "I walked back in, I locked my door, I walked straight through my house to the back door, I opened the back door and the dog ran out into the back garden.
"I came back into make a coffee, and I saw something move out the corner of my eye. As I turned around there were two geezers in my kitchen, with masks on.
"I shouted, 'what the f*** are you doing in my house?'
"The one was screaming, 'give me the puppies, shut up'. He grabbed me, got the knife, and shouted at me for my phone
"The knife was not far away from me, I kind of threw the phone. I just wanted them to go, there was nothing else for them to take."
Ms Stewart said the second "boy" stood in silence before kicking the puppies' mother in the face.
She added: "The dog cage was in the kitchen and he was just leaning over.
"The dog went for the smaller boy, and as she went for him, he kicked her in the face, she just ran behind me.
"I was scared. I've never been in that situation in my life, ever.
"I thought there were just the two boys, but my neighbours came out and saw. The two boys in my garden were putting the pups over the fence to the other boy who was putting them in the bag.
"They then ran down Druids Lane way towards Walker's Heath Park and ran through towards the top of the Fold."
Polly, the pups' mother, has been distressed without them.
Ms Stewart said: "The dog is going round panting, she's devastated, she keeps whining and crying and sniffing around."
West Midlands Police said the incident was a "traumatic experience" for the victim.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "We’re investigating after five dogs where stolen in a robbery at a property on Shrewton Avenue, Birmingham at 10.20am on June 10.
"We understand two men entered the property, before threatening a woman with a knife and taking her phone, along with five bulldogs, belonging to a friend.
"This is understandably a traumatic experience for both the victim and the owner of the dogs.
"Our investigations are in the early stages, and we are appealing for anyone with any information or witnessed the incident to contact us as soon as possible. Please quote crime number 20/1036621/21."
