A 19-year-old man was arrested after police seized a suspected stolen motorbike and drugs in West Derby.

At around 10.25pm on Wednesday, July 15, police spotted a man on the back of an electric motorbike on Muirhead Avenue East.

He attempted to make off from them before he was detained and was subsequently searched, after officers detected a smell of cannabis.

A quantity of cannabis was found and the 19-year-old of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of controlled drugs.

He was taken to a police station for questioning, while enquires to identify the owner of the bike continue.
