A teen has suffered 'life-changing injuries' and two others are injured in hospital after a car flipped on its roof and went up in flames on a Scots road.
Emergency crews were called to the A93 outside of Peterculter, Aberdeenshire at around 12.40am on Saturday.
Police rushed to the scene, one mile after the Rob Roy Bridge, where a grey, Audi A6 was on its roof and on fire.
Three men were taken to Aberdeen Royal infirmary for treatment.
One, age 18, has suffered life-changing injuries, according to police.
Another, age 27, was seriously injured.
The third, age 19, also received medical treatment although his injuries are not believed to be serious.
No further updates on their current medical condition have been provided at this stage.
The fireball crash damaged a stretch of the A93, forcing emergency services to close the road to repair it.
The scene was still sealed off as of 12.30pm on Sunday as a probe into the incident continues, with enquiries ongoing to establish the circumstances.
Police say it is 'important' to find out 'exactly what happened' at the time and in the 'moments leading up to it'.
Witness as well as those with dash-cam and CCTV footage are being urged to come forward.
Officers would also like to speak to anyone who was driving in the area before 12.40am, especially those who saw a motor matching the description.
Road Policing Sergeant Chris Smith said: "We continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash and it is important we establish exactly what happened at the time of the crash and in the moments leading up to it.
"If you witnessed the crash and have yet to speak to officers, please get in touch.
"If you were driving in the area before 12.40am and saw a car matching this description, please also come forward.
"We would like to speak to anyone who has dash-cam or CCTV footage which assist with our investigation.
"Information can be provided by calling police on 101, quoting reference number 0138 of July 31."
