The Zodiac moves into the sign of Libra in the week ahead - and to celebrate their birth month, Nia True from Compass Tarot has provided a three card reading.

All the other astrological signs have a one card reading, to offer them some guidance in the week starting Monday, September 20.

Libra – VI of Pentacles, The World, The Emperor

Welcome to your solar return month, Libra, which begins this week, and to your three card reading.

The world can be your oyster this month, with a couple of provisos. The first is that you pay heed to your support systems, and ensure that you aren’t either taking or giving too much. A lack of parity in this area could create a shaky foundation, which will only store up problems for later on. What we give and receive doesn’t have to be the same, for it to be equal and power is something to be considered here.

Secondly, you’re not going to get to where you’d like to go without discipline, structure and a clear plan. Just winging it isn’t an option here. Yes, that could mean a degree of self-sacrifice, but the flipside is that if you put the hard work in, the keys to the castle can be yours.

This is a time for soaring, for bringing together all of the threads that have led you here, and having the satisfaction of achieving what has long been aimed for – the completion of a journey begun months, perhaps years ago. Enjoy it!

Scorpio – VIII of Wands

Strike while the iron is hot, Scorpio! This is a week for action, for making your mark, and realising dreams. There may be things that you’ve been working towards, or perhaps you’ve been hoping for a chance; if that’s the case, now is your time. Don’t look gift horses in the mouth, grab whatever opportunities come your way.

Sagittarius – VII of Pentacles

It may be time for a review this week, Sagittarius. If you’re stuck in a rut, why? What’s keeping you there? If you’re making good progress towards your goals, why? What’s working well? If you keep going on this road, will it take you where you want to go? Use your answers as a compass.

Capricorn – II of Swords

What are you avoiding, or protecting yourself from? The problem with that strategy is that whilst you may be able to dodge some difficult feelings, or conflict, it keeps you stuck where you are. And if you’re feeling avoidant, that probably isn’t somewhere you want to be. It might be time to face things, Capricorn.

Aquarius – The Hermit

If you’re feeling uncertain, especially about the future, Aquarius, you might benefit from some peace and quiet, alone time, and a little reflection on how you got to the present. Other people’s opinions are unlikely to be helpful, until you’ve gained some clarity about what you think. Trust yourself.

Pisces – The Hanged Man

Even when we are forced by others, or by circumstance, to pause and sit on our hands, we can use this time well, by seeking a fresh perspective on things. Being still, we notice more of our surroundings than when we are in motion. How can you use new information to your benefit, when you get moving again, Pisces?

Aries – IX of Wands

We can’t run at all of the things at once, Aries. The danger of taking on too much is that we never actually progress fully in any of it. This week, notice the places where you are almost there, and push yourself to completion in those areas, before taking on anything new. Your future self will thank you.

Taurus – V of Cups

When things don’t quite work out as we had planned, it’s easy to focus on what hasn’t worked. Whilst it’s important to remember that we often learn most from our mistakes, rather than our successes, once you’ve gathered what learning you can, it’s also important to move forward, with what you still have, Taurus.

Gemini – The Moon

What’s in the shadows can feel intimidating or even frightening, Gemini. But by facing our fears, we grow stronger, and more able to proceed with fearlessness – that isn’t to say that we don’t feel scared, but that we can feel the fear and do it anyway. Don’t make decisions, or act, from a place of fear this week – be brave.

Cancer – Page of Pentacles

You are invited to root yourself, and focus carefully on what you want to achieve this week, Cancer. There may be opportunities to learn and progress, if you can approach things from the mind of a beginner. If you were just starting out, what would you see, that a more experienced eye takes for granted?

Leo – IV of Wands

This could be a week for making a big decision, or completing something important, Leo; whichever it is, try and allow some celebration into the proceedings. How do you want to look back on this? Are you allowed to enjoy your sense of agency, or achievement, or are there obstacles to that?

Virgo – V of Swords

A Pyrrhic victory is no victory at all. In any case, the idea of winners and losers is in reality often more complex. Think of the fame gained by a defeated underdog, or the disgust shown towards a winner who is perceived to be undeserving. This week, notice what you gain from loss, and lose from winning, Virgo.
