Three-time Super Bowl champion LeGarrette Blount has apologised after getting involved in a minor brawl at a youth football game.
The 35-year-old retired from the NFL in 2020, and now finds himself coaching youth football post-career. But things didn't go to plan during a game on Saturday night, as the Gilbert police department responded to Williams Field High School after they received multiple reports of adults fighting during the game.
Blount was involved in the incident, although any fighting had stopped by the time that officers attended the scene. The authorities have said that the case investigation is ongoing, and Blount has since apologised.
"Today video footage was sent to TMZ in regards to my actions at a football game this past weekend," Blount said on his social media. "Unfortunately the video shared does not display all off the details and events that transpired.
"Regardless of that, I take full responsibility for my part in it and for putting myself in this situation. I apologize to all of my players and parents and also to the players and parents on the other team.
"As a leader, coach, father and a role model I understand my actions are unacceptable. I hope and pray for your understanding and forgiveness and plan to continue to be a positive impact in the lives of our youth."
Blount is a former running back that experienced major success during his nine-year NFL career. He won the Super Bowl twice with the New England Patriots, and also went all the way with the Philadelphia Eagles.

But Saturday's incident is something that Blount will want to eradicate from his memory quickly, as according to TMZ, the former NFL star appeared to take exception to something someone had said to him. Blount was coaching the GCYFC Gators against the Elite -- when in the postgame handshake line tempers started to flare.
Blount is clearly doing something right in practice though, as his Gators side are currently 5-0 in their NYFCA/AZ AYF standings this season. They are one of 10 teams in the division, and are storming it so far.
The former NFL star has been coaching for just over a year, but appears to be a natural as he is inspiring his under-12 side. It's unknown on whether Blount would want to pursue coaching at a higher level, but at this rate it's surely on the cards.
