Strictly star Karim Zeroual is set to dedicate his appearance on the hit show to his tragic best friend – the daughter of Scots Taggart actor John Michie.

Louella Fletcher Michie died at a music festival which led to her boyfriend Ceon Broughton being jailed for manslaughter for supplying the Class A drug which killed her.

Heartbroken Karim paid tribute to the girl he called his “sister and best friend” following the tragedy at Bestival in Dorset, in September 2017, just hours before her 25th birthday.

Ahead of the BBC show’s launch later this month, CBBC presenter Karim plans to dance in her memory with partner Amy Dowden.

A close friend of his told the Record: “Karim thought the world of Louella and loved to dance with her. There is no doubt she will be in his mind during some of the more emotional moments of the show. He really adored her.”

The pal told how Karim, 19, would often attend music events and festivals with Louella and said the pair were “kindred spirits” who would also have sleepovers and go out for dinner.

They said she’d refer to him as her “little man” and he called her his sister and “My G”, a gangsta expression for close friend.

The two knew one another for more than five years and in an Instagram video, Louella even nominated Karim along with her actor cousin Jamie Michie for the Ice Bucket Challenge In 2014.

In another film, Karim showed off his dance spins and kicks on some grass while Louella urges him “Let’s do this”.

In a separate clip, Karim is heard laughing as Louella puts something into the boot of a car.

He said of their friendship after she died: “Words can’t describe how I feel today. You were so special to me. The years we had together and the times we had have always been jokes, because you were never without a smile.

“The only girl in the world I can call my best friend and my sister. I love you forever and always. RIP beautiful Lou. Gone too soon. #loveforlouella”

After posting pictures of him being pushed around in a supermarket trolley with Louella and snuggling up beside her under a duvet on the sofa, Karim said of their special relationship: “My No1 girl.

“Too much love for my Lou Lou. Will always be in my heart. My G.”

Karim even sent Louella’s mum, former Hot Gossip dancer Carol Fletcher Michie, a message following her daughter’s death from the overdose.

After she asked him to include the hashtag “LoveforLouella’ to signpost his pictures on Instagram, he said: “Hope you’re well and I hope I can come visit you guys soon.”

Carol replied: “Yes, please do catch up and of course talk about Louella. Message us any time.”

Louella’s boyfriend Ceon Broughton was sentenced to eight years and six months after supplying her with a bumped-up version of hallucinogenic drug 2CP. Instead of getting help, he filmed her as she endured a “gradual demise” over six hours.

After Broughton was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison in February this year, Holby City star John Michie spoke candidly about the loss of his daughter.

He said: “I try not to think about Louella too much otherwise I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing now. I wake up every morning to face life starting again without Louella. Our daughter, our sister, our friend, our family now broken.

“I go to bed every night with the image of Louella crying out to her mum and dad and brother and sister to help.

“But there was only one person who could have helped her.”
