Strictly Come Dancing made history last year when it showcased the first same-sex couple and now professional dancer Karen Hauer says she'd love to be part of a repeat performance.
In what was a groundbreaking move from the BBC boxer Nicola Adams and her professional partner Katya Jones competed in the celebrity dancing competition wowing fans with their brave performance.
Strictly veteran Karen, who made her debut on the show in 2012 and has been paired host of male celebrities including Mark Wright and Jeremy Vine, has said that it would be great to have a change.
Speaking to Hello she said: “A same-sex partner would be incredible.
“The support behind Strictly’s first same-sex couple last year was extraordinary.
“I can only imagine our wonderful viewers this year would support it just as much, if not more.”
Nicola and Katya had to leave the competition early after Katya tested positive for Covid however their journey won't be forgotten by fans.
During their last dance, one penned poignantly: "Thank you Nicola and Katya. The difference you've done to acceptance and inclusivity across the UK is incalculable."
Karen, who danced with reality star Jamie Laing in the last series of Strictly, said she has changed a lot as a person since she first joined the show.
“I’m more confident in myself than I was back in 2012 and I’m sure of who I am as a person, as a woman in this industry," she commented.
Karen has declared she will never date another dancer following the collapse of her marriage to Strictly Come Dancing professional Kevin Clifton.
The 39-year-old Venezuelan Strictly pro was married to former fellow show dance pro 38-year-old Kevin between 2015 and 2018 – and was previously married to former dance partner Matthew Hauer.
Her first marriage ended in 2009, and in October last year Karen split from 37-year-old opera singer David Webb following a two year romance.

Karen says she is now ready to find new love once again – but is making it clear she will not be waltzing towards any other dancers.
Back in February, Karen opened up about the pain she endured while divorcing Kevin.
She said: “Obviously, other things happen, there are other factors that happened, that really hurt us both. But I thought... I would have never let go of it. I wouldn’t have never, never let go of it.
“I would have liked to have fought for it. It took me a year after we separated to actually let go of him."
