Strictly’s Giovanni threatens to ‘destroy’ Piers Morgan’s confidence after he fuelled Ranvir romance rumours

STRICTLY Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice has said he could "destroy" Piers Morgan's confidence.

The 30-year-old Italian reckoned he would leave the Good Morning Britain star a wreck if they were paired together on the dance floor.

He told the Mirror: "I would destroy his confidence in a week. In a week we will realise ‘Who’s this man? What is that? Is it really Piers?’”

It comes after Piers fuelled romance rumours between Giovanni and his dance partner, GMB star Ranvir Singh.

Watching footage of them dancing on the ITV breakfast hit recently, Susanna Reid asked: "How close can you get?"

Piers, 55, replied: "A lot closer, I suspect, than we're being told."

She and Giovanni performed a sizzlingly romantic Argentine Tango during which they were so close their lips nearly touched.

Speaking yesterday, Giovanni said: "I would love to dance with him, sexy Piers. I would love to get down with him on the dance floor and see what he’s really made of."

He then insisted: "I would destroy his confidence in a week."

Ranvir, 43, agreed: "I would love to see that! Actually, it’s quite an exciting prospect – who’s going to lift who?"

Giovanni was heard calling his dance partner "baby" in an unheard audio clip that was unearthed yesterday.

He was heard saying: "It's our song, baby girl" ahead of their American Smooth routine last week.

During their performance, Giovanni also declared: "I love you" - causing one fan to remark: "Gio and Ranvir are in love nobody can tell me otherwise."

The presenter has previously said that being struck by the Strictly curse with Giovanni would be a "bloody miracle".

However Ranvir, who recently split from husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal, has long denied anything is going on between the pair.

She insisted: "She added: "We get on, it's just we both... there's a performance element to the dancing."

Tomorrow night's musicals week will see Giovanni and Ranvir performing a Viennese Waltz to a song from the show Waitress.
