Giovanni Pernice has denied reports he is dating Verity Bowditch.

It had been claimed that the Strictly Come Dancing hunk had been enjoying 'secret dates' with the Made in Chelsea star - just weeks after splitting from Maura Higgins.

The Sun reported that a pal close to the Italian dancer had said the star had "fallen head over heels" for the E4 star.

However, Giovanni took to social media on Sunday to speak for himself and set the record straight.

"Happy Sunday beautiful people. Always wanting to speak the truth over here," he began his statement to his 677,000 followers.

Giovanni is currently tipped to win the Glitterball trophy with his celebrity partner, EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis, 27.

The serial-dater and the actress have also been subject to rumours of a romantic connection due to their amazing chemistry on the dance floor.

Despite the constant speculation, it seems that the soap star is still happy with Samuel Arnold, her boyfriend of seven years.

Last month, Giovanni shocked fans when he called time on his relationship with Love Island star Maura - after less than six months of dating.

The pair confirmed their romance back in July, with matching snaps on social media, and appeared to be very loved-up.

However, it seems the Strictly curse struck again, and the couple called it quits - with it being reported Giovanni instigated the break-up.

Reality TV star Maura was said to be "devastated" by the split at the time.

The Glow Up: Ireland presenter deleted all trace of their relationship on her social media channels and reportedly told pals she "has to move on" and bounce back from the heartbreak.

Prior to embarking in a relationship with Maura, the Italian dancer has been linked to and dated fellow dance professional Luba Mushtuk, TOWIE star Jess Wright, former celebrity Strictly partner Georgia May Foote and Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts.

After denying reports of a new romance, it appears the Strictly star is focused on lifting the Glitterball trophy with Rose next month.

The stars are now favourites to win this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing, after impressing both viewers and judges.

Some bookies are offering odds as short of 2/9 on for Rose and Giovanni to be crowned champions, with John Whaite and Johannes Radebe coming second with odds of around 6/1.
