Strictly Come Dancing viewers are convinced that Adam Peaty and Katya Jones 'almost kissed' at the end of their sizzling routine on Saturday night.

Olympic swimming champion Adam was one of the bookies' early favourites for the Glitterball trophy as soon as this year's line-up was announced and, while he has had a few off weeks so far, he and pro partner Katya made a triumphant return to form this weekend with a red hot Argentine tango that heated up the BBC ballroom.

The notoriously hard to perfect discipline demands that the couple dance very close together with their limbs intertwined and, having displayed some fantastic footwork and electric chemistry during the course of their routine, many fans watching at home felt like Adam and Katya were about to lock lips as the music ended, which may, of course, been all part of the performance.

Rushing to Twitter to react, one posted: "Did Adam and Katya nearly kiss there?!?" and another reacted: "Eeeeerm.... Did Adam just have to stop himself from kissing Katya live on TV then??"

A third reacted: "adam and katya deffo nearly kissed at end of that," but others were too focused on the dance themselves and celebrating Adam's 'comeback' after a below par Movie Week last weekend.

As the judges awarded the dance 36 out of 40, fan tweeted: "What a comeback from Adam & Katya though!! Often the week after a theme week feels a bit flat."

Equally enamoured with Adam and Katya's routine, another commented: "Can't stop watching Adam and Katya - sensational!" while another remarked: "AMAZING Argentine tango from Adam and Katya"

The judges were full of praise for Adam and Katya, with Motsi Mabuse telling them that they definitely got it right this week and Anton du Beke saying the amount of difficult lifts Adam executed was tremendous.
