Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman had to apologise on Saturday night after making contestant HRVY cry by showing him an emotional video message.

Early favourite to win the show this year, popstar HRVY was back in action in the BBC ballroom on Saturday with pro partner Janette Manrara to dance a Viennese Waltz to Justin Bieber hit Stuck With You.

And while they didn't quite match their leaderboard-topping score of 25/30 last week, the couple scored a very respectable 23, putting them just behind EastEnders actress Maisie Smith and her partner Gorka Marquez.

He replied: "Ah yeah, shout out to Joyce, love you!"

But then Claudia sprung a surprise on HRVY by revealing that Joyce had recorded a video message for him. He exclaimed "no way!" as her saw his nan on screen to say how he'd made all the family "so proud."

She signed off "good luck, love you lots" and when the camera cut back to HRVY he was visibly moved and wiped his eyes.

Claudia told him: "Oh I'm sorry we didn't mean to make you sad. You love her so much, she loves you so much."

As he struggled to keep composure, HRVY said: "I hope you liked it nan, sorry I can't speak" before Claudia apologised again, saying: "I'm really sorry!"

HRVY then told Cthe presenter he found his week 2 dance "really difficult" struggling with keeping his frame.

This weekend one celebrity will leave the ballroom after the first public vote.
