Actor and comedian Robert Webb has branded Strictly Come Dancing a "weird" show after dropping out from the competition last week.
The 49-year-old comic managed three weeks on the hit weekend show - from intense training to fierce competition - before being forced to quit due to health reasons.
Despite being a fan favourite with his super routine 's and unique outfit choices, Robert said he struggled to learn the intense dances each week.
Sadly, the actor decided it was the end of the glittery road for him last week after admitting he had been overambitious about his physical abilities having undergone heart surgery just last year.
Having now stepped away from the dance floor, Robert – who is famous for playing Jeremy ‘Jez’ Usbourne in iconic Channel 4 comedy Peep Show – says he was uncomfortable with the ‘reality show’ aspect of Strictly.
Robert feared saying something wrong on camera would result in his being "cancelled".
He told The Sun on Sunday : “You turn up and there is this reality to it. There is always a camera and there is a camera in the rehearsal room.
“And it is unnatural as an actor as you want to be in this headspace where you are all trusting each other and you can do it wrong and be bad in front of your fellow actors and the director and it does not matter without getting cancelled.
“But I trust the people as they are only there to make you look good, but it is a bit weird having this thing of cameras all the time.
“It is not like it is an unpleasant environment, but they are long days and it is a long time to be nice.”
The Peep Show actor's stint in the dancing show was unlike anything he's ever experience in his career.
He added: “Like in the theatre you have press night and we are always doing the first show and it will be the worst show.
“The actors know this will be the worst performance except at the end of that performance [Strictly] you might get fired. It is brutal. It is an absolutely weird show.”
Robert's partner Dianne Buswell paid tribute to her dancing partner after the pair took their final bow last week. The 32-year-old professional dancer shared a video on her Instagram titled "Team dirbs camera blocks".
The post showed clips of performance rehearsals from past weeks on the show.
From Cha Cha to cheerio, the five minute clip included footage of the pair dancing to Boney M's Rasputin with fellow contestants cheering on in the background.
The funnyman announced he was quitting the show last week, saying he was "extremely sorry" to be hanging up his dancing shoes.
In a statement, Robert said: “I’m extremely sorry to have to announce that I’m withdrawing from Strictly Come Dancing due to ill health.
“Two years ago I had open heart surgery and although I believed I was fit enough to take on Strictly and its demanding schedule, it became clear that I had bitten off way more than I could chew for this stage in my recovery.
"I had begun to feel symptoms that led me to seek an urgent consultation with my heart specialist, and it was her view that it would be better for the sake of my health to step back from the show.
"I’m proud of the three dances that Dianne Buswell and I managed to perform and deeply regret having to let her down like this.
“I couldn’t have wished for a more talented partner or more patient teacher, and it’s a measure of Dianne’s professionalism and kindness that I was able to get as far as I did. Thanks too to everyone at home who voted for us.”
