Strictly Come Dancing bosses have banned celebrity entourages from this year’s series

BEFORE, when you stepped behind the scenes at Strictly Come Dancing, it was a hive of activity: with all the celebrity’s pals and judges’ entourages milling around the set.

But now that’s all going to change as BBC bosses are having to put a stop to any additional bodies at the studios in Elstree London.

A TV insider said: “Strictly’s the biggest show on TV so it’s like a party every Saturday night when the show is on.

“Guests of judges, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli are usually invited to enjoy drinks before watching the show. The celebs and some of the dancers will often have guests too.

“It means the studios are always jam packed. But because of the on-going pandemic, it’s going to have to stop.

“This year guests are being kept to an absolute minimum. There will be no entourages or endless guests anymore. Even the glam squads are getting the boot.

“Make-up and hair for the judges will be done off-site, with touch ups being done by a smaller team during the show for them and the celebs.

“Of course it’s not the best news for those super fans of the show but ultimately, the safety of everyone who works on Strictly, and those performing, is the priority.”

Earlier this week it was revealed how Strictly would also be scrapping the usual rows of chairs in favour of tables to make sure the audience would be at two metre distances at all times.

It’s clear filming won’t be the same for a long time but I just know that Strictly will keep their production standards so high, I doubt any of us watching at home will even notice the difference.

EASTENDERS’ Kellie Bright, who appeared on Strictly in 2015, has revealed female stars are asked if they want their boobs “enhanced” in the dance costumes.

The Price is bright

KATIE Price seems to have adopted some fighting spirit since appearing on the last series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

She put this eye-catching picture of herself in a snug yellow tracksuit alongside a four-legged friend on Instagram with the caption: “Feeling Fierce Today.”

The model was the first famous face to leave the gruelling training course on Channel 4, which was led by hardmen Ant Middleton and Jason Fox.

Judging by the animal print, they still managed to bring out her wild side.

I’m not sure the outfit will work well as camouflage, though.

must watch

WHAT? Ambulance, BBC1, Thursday 9pm.

WHY? The documentary series following the North West Ambulance Service returns. Tomorrow night, the paramedics start their shift with the aftermath of a stabbing in a park.

Aussies end Love drought

RELAX if you fear getting withdrawal symptoms from Love Island’s usual helping of hunks and beauties.

ITV2 has confirmed the Australian version will be on our screens from June 15, with the customary selection of buff and curvy stunners.

It temporarily replaces the British series, which was cancelled due to Covid-19.

The singletons travelled from Down Under to enjoy a sizzling summer in the same luxury villa in Mallorca in 2018.

And the results were just as saucy. In fact, judging by some of the pictures they make the UK version look tame by comparison.

There was also a series of the Aussie Love Island filmed on Fiji last year.

But let’s hope we’ve got our own show back up and running by 2021.

KSI gets into 'box

KSI and fellow musician S-X are joining Celebrity Gogglebox for the first three episodes of the latest series.

It starts Friday on Channel 4 at 9pm.

Commenting of the week’s TV will be a refreshing change for a man who found fame being watched on YouTube.

To date, his channel has been seen more than five billion times. Since then KSI has gone on to dabble in boxing and carve out a stellar music career.

I’m surprised he’s still eating takeaways then.
